The end :(
Now the trip is coming to an end and we can finally relax on the Thai islands it is a good time to reflect on the trip.
We have been away for 142 days.
We have been to 15 countries -Bolivia, Chile (for 30 mins), Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Japan, China, Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and Thailand.
We have taken 19 types of transport - Airplane, Cessna, bus, car, kayak, tuk tuk, safari jeep, truck, boat, longtail boat, reed boat, sand buggy, bicycle (tandem, four person and normal), train, ropeway, cable car, toboggan, elephant and motorcycle.
Between us we have drunk at least 350 fizzy drinks.
We have been up to 4125ft above sea level.
We have seen lots of animals in the wild - rhinos, lions, giraffes, zebra, seals, penguins, antelope, buffalo, gibbons, ostriches, impala, condors, turtles, ant eaters, tarantulas, macaws, piranhas and even an ant army!
We have been to Rio which was loud and bright 24/7 and to Amantani Island on Lake Titikaka which was pin drop silent and dark as soon as the sun went down.
We have eaten ceviche (raw fish marinated in lime), guinea pig, chicken heart, warthog, kudu, ostrich, buffalo and pickled squid.
Most importantly we have one relationship intact and strengthened by a life changing experience. There have been times when we have been exhausted, smelly and ratty but we still managed not to kill each another. And this my chance to say thank you to Del for making the trip so wonderful and fun! For keeping safe and keeping me laughing!
Anyway we hope you enjoyed this blog and our stories from around the world. Hopefully we have inspired some of you to travel and see what the world has to offer! This article sums up the benefits of travel in a blunt and crude but effective manner.
See you all soon. Word to your mother. Xxx
PS Ask us about our final morning in Koh Phangnan if you want a laugh about, contrary to how we have portrayed ourselves in this blog, what monumentally dumb idiots we are!!
